Barbara E. Moses

Barbara E. Moses, 91, of Dowagiac, passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021, at Elkhart General Hospital. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 1:00PM at Clark Chapel, 405 Center St. Dowagiac with Fr. Russell Homic officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00PM until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Julie Blaske for beautification at Rotary Villa where Barbara lived. Friends wishing to leave the family a message of condolence may do so at www.clarkchapel.com Barbara was born January 4, 1930, in Dowagiac, to Frances and Belle (Johnston) Bashaw. She graduated from Dowagiac High school in 1948. On January 14, 1967, she married the love of her life, Robert Moses. Barbara worked many years in retail, she worked for the Fair Store in Dowagiac then for Big Wheel for over 17 years. She also worked for First National Bank that was later Old Kent Bank before her retirement. Barbara volunteered for many years in the Gift Shop and Welcome Center at Borgess Lee Hospital. She loved to go shopping and go for car rides, especially with her daughter, Julie. She had a love for sports, and enjoyed watching her grandson play baseball, tennis and soccer. Most of all she loved her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Barbara is survived by her daughter, Julie (David Shaefer) Blaske; grandson, Aaron (Jane) Blaske; great-grandsons, Greg and Noah Blaske; brothers, Charles (Patti) Bashaw and Larry (Rita) Bashaw; sister-in-law, Lola Bashaw; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Moses; and siblings, Lewis Bashaw and Joyce Bashaw.
