Fanny's Obituary

Fanny B. Wagner, 94, of Dowagiac, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 4, 2021 at Hanson Hospice, Stevensville. She was born February 8, 1927 in Detroit to Robert and Kate (McKee) Brownlie.

Over her lifetime Fanny worked as a secretary bookkeeper while raising her three daughters. At the age of fifty, she attended Southwestern Michigan College and obtained degrees in medical transcription and licensed practical nursing. She worked as a nurse for ten years at Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac. Fanny had a beautiful singing voice and over the years participated in many choirs. She was also an avid reader, knitter and seamstress, but most of all she loved her family and friends.

Fanny will be missed by her husband of 73 years, Rudy Wagner, whom she married April 10, 1948 in Detroit; her daughters, Carol (the late Terry) McLeod, Sandra (Craig) Robb, and Kit (Guy) Meaders; her grandchildren, Kevin McLeod, Ryan McLeod, Christopher (Savannah) Meaders, and Caroline Meaders; and her sister, Doris (the late Jesse) Filak. She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Kate Brownlie; sister, Agnes Brownlie Lowrente and infant son, David Wagner.
