Virginia's Obituary

Virginia W. Zielke, 86, of Stevensville, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at the Hanson Hospice Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Per Virginia's wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements were entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services. Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Virginia was born on November 7,1934, in Trumann, Arkansas, to Paul & Ethel (Evans) Klutts. She moved to Michigan as a young child. Growing up on a farm, Virginia, learned how to work hard. This trait was with her throughout her entire life. On October 11,1952, Virginia married the love of her fife, Arthur Zielke, Jr., in Baroda. She enjoyed her and Art's many weekend boat trips to Saugatuck and South Haven. Virginia and Art retired to the warmth and sunshine of Daphne, Alabama where they started their own cleaning business. Virginia loved to work, jog and visit casinos. She was a very creative person and a talented artist. She also played the piano by ear, never having a lesson. She had a soft heart and a deep love for all animals. Feeding and watching the squirrels and birds was an activity she cherished. She is being remembered as a strong, funny, and loving mom and grandma. Virginia is survived by her children, David Zielke of Mobile, AL and Lynn (Scott) Vince of St. Joseph; grandchildren, Lisa (Hans) Koppenhoefer and Lauren (Tyler) Penley; great-grandchildren, Landon and Makaiah; sisters, Ruby and Charlotte and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul & Ethel; loving husband, Art; and siblings, Mabel, Shirley, Frank, Pete and Kay. Virginia's family would like to recognize the Hanson Hospice Center staff. We are so deeply appreciative to each one of you for the compassionate care you provided to Miss Virginia. She felt safe, comfortable and well cared for in her final weeks while in your care. We sincerely thank each one of you!
