Charlotte's Obituary

Charlotte Duran, formerly of Baroda, passed away, Thursday, September 23, 2021 at A Place Called Home in Stevensville. A Celebration of Life graveside service will be held 12:30 P.M. Friday, October 1, 2021 at Ruggles Cemetery in Baroda, with Rev. Tom Bird officiating. Friends may visit with Family from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Friday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorial donations in Charlotte’s name may be made to the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan. Those wishing to sign Charlotte’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Charlotte was born May 11, 1932 in Atica, Indiana to Leo & Mary (Faye) Rennick. After her family moving to Benton Harbor, she attended Benton Harbor High School, Class of 1950. On January 15, 1952 she married Nicholas Duran in St. Joseph. While raising her children, Charlotte was employed at The Brass Rail in St. Joseph and Berrien Hills Country Club in Benton Harbor. Charlotte cherished the time spent with her family and enjoyed reading whenever possible. She will be deeply missed by her loving family Charlotte is survived by her children-Tamra Hultgren of Stevensville, Steve (Cindy) Duran of St. Joseph, Leta (Rick) Huebel of St. Joseph, Cheryl (Robert) Clubs of Baroda; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; her sister-Margaret “Muggs” Angelo of Lakeland, FL; and numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Nick on January 30, 2007, her son-in-law Fred Hultgren, and six brothers & sisters-Bill & Chuck Rennick, Lydena “Ding” Daltry, Peggy McCormick, Kathryn Bradford & Leila Mae Masters.
