Carole's Obituary

Carole Ann Campbell, 83 of Stevensville, Ml, passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Caretel Inns of Lakeland. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, September 15, at 2 PM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI with Pastor Tom Bird officiating. Visitation will be from 1 PM until 2 PM. A private burial will take place at a later date at Hickory Bluff Cemetery. Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Carole was born on August 21, 1938 in Chicago, IL to Lawrence E. and Helen (Tiz) Bloom. In 1958, she graduated from Emil G. Hirsh High School. Carole worked for Archdiocese of Chicago Foodservice, where she worked with many high school cafeterias in the Chicago area. Realizing she wanted to work for herself, Carole started her own contract food service company, Team Food Service, Inc. She would later begin employment with Dowling Property Management, where she was in charge of overseeing a number of properties. On August 19, 1999, Carole married John Campbell in their beautiful backyard garden of their Chicago home. Carole loved tending to her flower gardens and going on garden walks with John. She was also known for her cooking skills, while her food was delicious, her trademark was the abundance of food she would prepare regardless if it was a dinner for two or hosting family parties. Nothing was ever broken or unusable for long, with Carole’s “Jack-of-all-trades” knowledge she was able to fix, sew, decorate or reupholster anything that needed a bit of TLC. Carole is survived by her loving husband, John of 22 years; devoted children, Michael (Mary Terese) Turro, Jill Turro, Glenn Turro, Tracy (Kenneth) Blazevich, Amy (Mike) Cohan and Terry Turro; 14 grandchildren, Brooke (Steven), Jenna (Christopher), Garrett (Alexandra), Kevin (Katie), Krista, Casey, Kendall, Ryann, Bridgett, Suzanne, Mitchell, Scott, Melissa (Michael), and Manasse; three great-grandsons; and sister, Mary Ann (Don) DeBruin. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence E. and Helen; son, Karl Turro in 2015; and brother, Lawrence M. Bloom in 2013.
