Milli's Obituary

Milli Miles, 62, of St. Joseph, passed away, Sunday, September 5, 2021 at Spectrum Health Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 12:00-3:00 P.M. at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. A benefit dinner in her honor will follow at 4:00 P.M. at Stevensville American Legion Post #568, 3093 Johnson Rd., Stevensville. Milli was born November 12, 1958 in St. Joseph to Cyril & Mildred (Craft) Miles Sr. She attended St. Joseph High School, Class of 1976. Milli began her cooking career while in high school at Zitta’s Grill in St. Joseph. She was employed at The Silver Dollar from 1985 until they closed in 2007, then at Connie’s in Baroda for several years, followed by The Olympus/Early Bird in Bridgman, and currently for the last two years, she was the breakfast cook at The Bistro on the Boulevard. Milli was a girl scout leader for four years while her daughters were in scouting. She was a member of the Stevensville American Legion Post #568 Ladies Auxiliary for the last thirty-four years. She enjoyed camping at Camelot in Jones, MI, for the last fifteen plus years, being outdoors in the sun, and most of all, the time spent with her grandchildren, and friends too numerous to mention. Milli is survived by her daughters-Trista Crompton (fiancé Steve Tilden) of St. Joseph, Bobbie Crompton (husband Michael Pape) of LaPorte, IN; four grandchildren-Lucas, Chloe, Mason & Lillian; her brother Cyril (Donna) Miles, Jr. of Berrien Springs; nieces & nephews-James (Vanessa) Keifer of Hartford, Amanda Keifer of St. Joseph, Donna Miles of Bridgman & Benjamin (Stephanie) Turney of Berrien Springs; and her life-long friend Debbi “Derb” (Kevin) Dillenbeck of Riverside, MI & their daughter Whitley Dillenbeck. Milli was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister Nanette Keifer in 2018.
