Guy F. Piper

Guy F. Piper., 71, of Dowagiac, passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Clark Chapel and Cremation Services. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, September 10, 2021, at Clark Chapel, 405 Center St., Dowagiac. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00PM until the time of service on Friday. Memorial contributions in Guy’s name may be made to Caring Circle Hospice or the Cass County Animal Shelter. Those wishing to leave an online condolence for the family may do so at www.clarkch.com. Guy was born May 20, 1950, in Dowagiac to Paul and Mary (Sievert) Piper. He graduated from Dowagiac Union High School in 1968. After high school, Guy went on to attend Southwestern Michigan College and Western Michigan University. On September 29, 1973, he married the love of his life, Martha A. Holcomb in Paw Paw. Guy was known as a hard-working man; he worked for Peter Eckrich in Kalamazoo from 1973 until 1978. He then started his own business, Piper Heating and Air Conditioning Service that he owned and operated for many years until he retired. Guy was also the co-owner of Johnstone Supply in South Bend from 1989-1996. He was known as a quiet and simple man who loved to spend time with his family and friends. Guy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Guy is survived by his loving wife, Martha Piper; sisters; Pauline (Dan) Meier and Linda (Jim) Plangger; brothers-in-law, Steve Holcomb, Jim (Beverly) Holcomb and Rich (Glenda) Holcomb; sister-in-law Mary Jane Holcomb, many beloved nieces and nephews; and special family friend, Candace Miller and her family. He was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Dorothy Holcomb; sisters-in-law, Carole Griffith and Cindy Holcomb; brother-in-law, Phillip K. Holcomb; and nephew, Phillip C. Holcomb.
