Richard's Obituary

Richard L. “Rich” Davidson, 59, of Niles, passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at his home. A celebration of life gathering will be held on, Monday, September 13, 2021, from 4:00PM until 6:00PM, at Swem Chapel, 301 W. Front St., Buchanan, MI. Military Honors will take place at 4:00PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Buchanan American Legion. Those wishing to send a condolence online may do so at www.swemchapel.com. Rich was born January, 15, 1962, in Niles, to Norman and Beverly (Rau) Davidson. He graduated from Buchanan High School in 1981. After high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1981 to 1988. Rich was a hard worker, he worked as an electrician for Lakeland Hospital for over 30 years before his retirement. He enjoyed the outdoors where he loved to start campfires, go mushroom hunting, mowing his lawn, playing corn hole, horseshoes, and golfing. In his spare time, he could often be found at the local casino, playing Club Keno or watching the History Channel. He liked to watch football and was an avid University of Michigan fan. Rich was known as a very funny guy and an amazing dad who loved his family greatly, especially his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Rich is survived by his children, Richard (Laura Jones) Davidson, Rachel Davidson and Amanda (Tom) Ely; grandchildren, Coveney, Brandon, Tyler, Carrigan, Mailey, Tatum, Blake, Tannon, Braxton, Cole and Cash; siblings, Steve (Michelle) Davidson and David (Debbie) Davidson. He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Tayler Mavis, and his brother Craig Davidson.
