Lloyd J. Burns

Lloyd J. Burns, 83, of Galien, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Spectrum Health Lakeland, Niles. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at Summit Church, 1700 W. River Rd., Niles. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 am also at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Summit Church. Those wishing to send a condolence online may do so at www.swemchapel.com. Lloyd was born on August 21, 1938, to William “Bud” and Helena (Wentland) Burns in Galien. He graduated from Galien High School in 1956. Professionally, Lloyd worked twenty years at South Bend Lathe and twenty years at Country Heritage Credit Union as an Assistant Manager before retiring. He was very involved with the Berrien County Youth Fair, serving on the board for 14 years, from 1978-92. Lloyd also honorably served in the United States Army, Post Korean War. Lloyd is survived by his wife, Patricia Burns; sons, William (Karen) Burns and Kenneth Burns; step-daughters, Sandra (James) Cuson and Joanne (John) Herod; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Helena Burns and brother, Arvie Burns.
