Joanne Lee Kingman

Joanne Lee Kingman, 66, of Dowagiac, passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at her home in Dowagiac. Joanne was born October 30, 1954 in Ashland, ME to John and Ella Mae (Corbit) Handley. Joanne was a graduate of Ross Beatty High School in Cassopolis, class of 1973. On April 5, 1975, she married the love of her life, Daniel Kingman. They shared 45 years together before Danny’s passing in September, 2020. JoAnne will be remembered for her time working at Family Fare, where she wore many hats over the span of her 30+ year career. Family was everything to Joanne, especially her children, her grandsons, but most importantly, her great granddaughter. If she wasn’t working or spending time with family, Joanne could be found tending to her garden, playing her lotto numbers, or watching her favorite TV programs. Joanne will be missed by her children, Heather Truelove, and Daniel (Andrea) Kingman, II; her grandsons, Kollin (Cassidy) Schultz, Johnathon Schultz, and Nicholas Schultz; her great granddaughter, Grace Schultz; her brother, Jim (Michelle) Sylvester; and her in laws. She is preceded in death by her brother, Michael Sylvester; and her parents. The family will receive guests to honor the life of both Danny and Joanne from 3pm until the time of celebration at 5pm, Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Clark Chapel, 405 Center St., Dowagiac.
