Michelle's Obituary

Michelle Joy Trigger, 66, of Coloma, formerly of Flint and Gaylord, MI, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at the Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis, Multiple Myeloma and Dementia. Michelle was born May 11, 1955 in Cheboygan, MI to Thomas and Joyce (Preseau) Borowicz. On June 1, 1974 she married Frank Trigger in Flint, MI. Michelle was the model wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. Michelle was a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. She dedicated her life to her family and it brought her great joy. Hours were spent playing backyard baseball games, baking cookies (she knew everyone’s favorite), cheering at sporting events and supporting the kids through school. Card games with family were always a highlight as it brought us all together around a table to share our time (she always kept the game interesting and would drive some of us crazy). She greeted everyone she met with a smile, a hug (and usually a kiss), she was truly an endless ray of light. Michelle was dealt a hand no one deserves but never complained about her failing body, the pain, the treatments or the side effects. Through it all her singular focus was on the well-being of others. Her quiet stubborn grit should be an example for us all. Michelle is survived by her husband of 47 years, Frank Trigger; her children, Dr. Brandon (Nicole) Trigger, Dr. Christopher (Mary) Trigger, and Whitney (Derek) Breitbach; her grandchildren, Ava, Beckham, Mia, Jack, Colton, Emerson, and Keller; her mother, Joyce Borowicz; and her brothers, Randall (Belinda) Borowicz, and Shawn (Tammy) Borowicz. She is preceded in death by her father, Thomas Borowicz. The family will receive guests from 9-10:30am, Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. A funeral Mass will be held at 11am, Thursday, July 22, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 220 Church St., St. Joseph. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Hanson Hospice Center, Caring Circle of Spectrum Health Lakeland www.spectrumhealthlakeland.org/caring-circle/ or Marie Yeager Cancer Center.
