Lucie Wesner, 98, of Stevensville passed away Saturday, June 12, 2021. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, June 18, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor Jeremy Koehler officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Bluff Cemetery in Stevensville. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home from 1:00-2:00 P.M. prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stevensville. Those wishing to share a memory of Lucie online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com Lucie was born December 31, 1922 in Boratin, Poland to Leonard and Auguste (Hansch) Hoffmann. On December 15, 1956 she married Ernest Wesner at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Benton Harbor. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stevensville. Lucie enjoyed gardening, cooking and canning. She was known as a genuine person who loved her family and was very giving to others. We will miss her physical presence but will always cherish her in our hearts! Her spirit lives on in each one of us. Lucie is survived by her children; Cornelia (Thomas) Mitchell, and Ronald (Maria) Wesner; grandchildren, Zachary Mitchell, Benjamin (Bekka) Mitchell, Sarah Mitchell, Faith Mitchell, Grace Mitchell, Nathan Wesner and Noah Wesner; great-granddaughter, Maddison Mitchell; and sister, Erika Herbstreit. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ernest Wesner and siblings Adalbert, Tagebert, Lilly, Otto, Blandine, Elsa, Edwin, Martha and Amanda.
