Ruth's Obituary

Ruth J Heath, 96, a long time resident of Marcellus, Michigan, passed away on Friday, April 23, 2021 at her home. Ruth was born on April 18, 1925 in rural Marcellus to Leonard and Viola (Schmidt) Lewis. She graduated from Marcellus High School in 1943. On March 8, 1947 she married Donald Heath, also of Marcellus. Ruth and Donald began studying the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses in the early 1960's. They were both baptized on July 30th, 1965. In spite of her reserved nature, Ruth began to regularly share what she learned from the Bible with others. Ruth had many interests. She enjoyed gardening, especially working in her flower beds. She liked to visit with family and friends, to do crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles, to read, sew, and travel. For years she regularly sent hand made cards of encouragement to friends who were elderly or homebound. Ruth is survived by her husband, Donald Heath, children Carole (Lewellyn) Hahn of Marcellus, Donna Brandt of Bitely, Shirley (Randy) Eagle of Melbourne, Arkansas, William (Cindy) Heath of Rogersville, Missouri, Andrew (Shannon) Heath of Lawrence, 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Ruth was preceeded in death by her parents, Leonard and Viola Lewis; an infant son, David Heath; a grandson, Jeremy Heath; and sisters Winifred Rice, Joan Wilson, and Doris Jones. Although Ruth will be missed greatly by those who love her, they look forward to being reunited under peaceful conditions on a paradise earth at the time when God's promise of a resurrection takes place. A Zoom memorial sevice will be held later.
