Barbara Delores Dingus

Barbara D. Dingus, 76, of New Buffalo, MI passed away at the Franciscan Hospital in Michigan City, IN on Sunday – April 25, 2021. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sommerfeld Chapel – 15 N. Barton St., New Buffalo, MI. Barbara was born on May 6, 1944 in Bridgman, MI to the late Eugene and Erma (Mendenall) Taylor. She was a 1962 graduate of New Buffalo High School. On August 22, 1964 she married Shadrick (Shade) Dingus, Jr.; he preceded her in death on August 19, 2019. Barbara was a long-time member and secretary of the Bible Baptist Church and School in New Buffalo, MI. Memorial contributions in Barbara’s name may be made to the Bible Baptist Church. Barbara is survived by her son – Mark (Tonya) Dingus of New Buffalo; grandchildren – Taylor and Easton; great grandchildren – Madison, Henry and Josephine; a brother – Alvin (Marge) Taylor of Three Oaks, MI; sisters – Phyllis (Jim) Peterson of Winterville, GA and Robin (Tom) Bouton of Watertown, WI; and a sister-in-law Linda Taylor – wife of Barbara’s deceased brother Bill Taylor of New Buffalo. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sat., May 1, 12noon, at the Bible Baptist Church in New Buffalo, with Pastor’s David Thompson and John Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in New Buffalo. Visitation with the family is on Friday, April 30, from 5:00-7:00pm at Sommerfeld Chapel in New Buffalo.
