Catherine's Obituary

Catherine Klug, 94, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Caretel Inns in St. Joseph. A Private Service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph with Pastor Michael Roth officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church. Those wishing to share a memory of Catherine online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com Catherine was born December 21, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan to Pastor Edwin E. & Leila (Graff) Rossow. After completing her college education with a Bachelor of Arts Degree at Concordia River Forest College, she began teaching in St. Joseph, Michigan and ultimately met the love of her life. On July 1, 1951 she married Gerald Klug in St. Joseph. Catherine was a Lutheran School Teacher for many years. She was a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph. Catherine cherished the time she spent with her family and kept a strong faith. She also enjoyed working crossword puzzles and playing word jam. Catherine is survived by her children Thomas (Pam) Klug, Deborah (Kurt) Ashworth, James (Johna) Klug and Catherine Vossler; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and sister Esther Helland. Catherine was preceded in death by her parents and husband, four siblings and son-in-law Albert E. Vossler, III. Her life was a living example of Lutheran Bible Study verse, Ephesians 4:32 – “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you”.
