Jimmie C. Jackson, 79, of Eau Claire, passed away on Friday, April 2, 2021, at Spectrum Health Lakeland with his family by his side. A celebration of life service will be held at noon on Thursday, April 8, 2021, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Burial will follow in Spring Run Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will take place two hours prior from 10 am – 12 pm, also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Pets for Vets, PO Box 10860, Wilmington, NC 28404 or to the family in care of Lila Jackson. Those wishing to send a condolence online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Jimmie was born on October 2, 1941, to Cooper and Fern (Schaus) Jackson in Benton Harbor. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1960. Jimmie then enlisted in the United States Marines, honorably serving for four years. On June 10, 1961, he married the former Lila Koehler at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Benton Harbor. Following his service, Jimmie briefly worked in the construction industry before running printing presses at Patterson Printing and IPC, now Walsworth, eventually becoming a supervisor. Lastly, he was a supervisor at Harbor Graphics where he retired. Jimmie was also a Reserve Police Officer in both Benton Harbor and Eau Claire for many years. He loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed deer hunting and camping with family and friends. Jimmie is survived by his wife of nearly sixty years, Lila Jackson; daughter, Amber (Justin) Latham; grandchildren, Savannah and Peyton Wicks; step-grandson, Alex Latham; brother, Cooper (Gwen) Jackson, Jr. and sister-in-law, Betty Brady. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cooper and Fern Jackson; son, Bradley Jackson, infant daughter, Tania Jackson and infant sister, Connie Jackson.
