Daniel W. Powell

Daniel W. Powell, 75, of Decatur, passed away peacefully at his home in Decatur on Sunday, March 21, 2021. Services for Dan will be held privately. Dan was born August 18, 1945 in Decatur to Oscar and Ethel (Stroud) Powell. He worked as a furnace operator at Contech in Dowagiac for 35 years before his retirement 15 years ago. Not much for relaxing, Dan filled his time with his family and outdoors “fixing things up”. He loved his boat and was often found hunting and fishing with Gary. His family will remember him as a hard worker, great husband, caring dad, uncle, papa, and friend. Dan is survived by his daughters, Linda (Christopher) Carmody, and Danielle (Mitchell Clark) Powell; his wife, Linda Powell; his niece, Donna Sparks; his great nephew, Gary Wilds; his great niece, Angie Hastings; his great nephew, Terry Wilds; his great nephew Eric Huggins; his great, great niece, Marley Wilds; and lifetime family friend, Corissa Heflin. He is preceded in death by his two siblings; and his parents.
