Adrienne J. Bagatini

Adrienne J. Bagatini, 85, of Stevensville, passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Caretel Inn. Adrienne was born on August 4, 1935 in Coloma to Chester & Vera (Kniebes) Aspengren. She graduated from Watervliet High School in 1953 and continued her education by earning a secretarial administration degree from Michigan State University. For a few years Adrienne worked as an administrative assistant for Whirlpool Corporation, and also waitressed part-time at Dunham’s Café in Watervliet, where she met the love of her life, Edward Bagatini, whom she married on April 26, 1958. For many years Adrienne held down two jobs - as a wonderful homemaker and mother to their two daughters, and Ed’s right-hand partner at “Bagatini’s” music store in downtown St. Joseph. She was a fantastic chef and baker who loved to host dinner parties at her home for friends and family, and was also an avid gardener who took great pride in her pristine yard, featuring geraniums and begonias. Adrienne was also a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed attending services and church events. However, what made her smile the most was her family; spending time with her parents, children and grandchildren put the biggest smile on her face. Adrienne is survived by her loving husband of nearly 63 years, Ed; daughters, Sheryl Bagatini of Chicago, and Julie (Steve) Hoffman of Warrenville, IL; grandchildren, Alisan (Fiancé, Yura Cholewick) Goetz, Austin Goetz, Samantha (Joe) Davies, and Savanna (Fiance, Michael Redd) Hoffman; cousin, Marilynn Heim; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Vera; and brother, Arthur Aspengren. Arrangements have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Service. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a later date with burial taking place at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph.
