Doris E. Irwin

Doris E. Irwin, 98, of Buchanan, MI passed away on Tuesday – February 23, 2021 at her residence. Arrangements have been entrusted to Swem Chapel – 301 W. Front St., Buchanan, MI. Doris was born on July 20, 1922 in Galien, MI to the late William and Minnie (Peterson) Borst. On October 11, 1942 she married Charles Irwin; he preceded her in death on August 14, 1989. Surviving Doris is her son Terry Irwin of Buchanan. She is also preceded by a sister – Janice Boire and brothers – Chester, Robert, Harold, Warren and William. Doris worked at Inter City Bank for 11 years and then at Clark Credit Union for 13 years as accounts receivable manager. She was a member of the Buchanan Christian Church and a member of the Eastern Star. A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Friday – February 26, 1:00pm, at Swem Chapel in Buchanan. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Visitation precedes the service from 12:00pm-1:00pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Buchanan Christian Church.
