Steven M. “Stevie” McIntyre, 47, of Decatur, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at his home, from complications of Diabetes. Stevie has been cremated and a Celebration of Life Service will be planned and announced when it is safe to gather. Arrangements are entrusted to Newell Chapel in Decatur. Memorial donations in Stevie’s name may be made to VFW Post # 6248 in Decatur or the Decatur Food Pantry. Friends wishing to sign Stevie’s Memory Book online may do so at www.newellchapel.com. Stevie or “Buddha”, as he was known to some, was born September 22, 1973 in Vicksburg, Michigan to Tom & Connie (Krohn) McIntyre. He graduated from Decatur High School, class of 1993. After graduation, Stevie joined his Father in the family business, M-40 Bar in Decatur, where he was currently co-owner. He made many a friend there over the years. He was loved by all who knew him and he loved all of his many family and friends. Stevie was a member of the Men’s Auxiliary of VFW Post #6248 and the Peninsular Masonic Lodge # 10 in Dowagiac. He cherished the time spent with his family and many friends, and in his free-time enjoyed fishing. Stevie is survived by his parents-Tom & Connie McIntyre of Decatur; his nephew Douglas McIntyre, Jr. of Decatur; his great-nephew Leo McIntyre; aunts & uncles-Peggy & Jeff Orr of Lovells, MI, Sue & Dave McIntyre of Plainfield, IL; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother Douglas McIntyre, Sr. on March 18, 2017, sister-in-law Terry McIntyre on February 12, 2021, and grandparents-John “Chuck” & Margaret Krohn, and George & Mae McIntyre.
