Jeffrey V. “Jeff” Ruhno, 69, of Stevensville, passed away January 28, 2021 at his home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 3:00 P.M. Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. Micah Schoeplein officiating. Friends may visit with the Family beginning at 2:00 P.M. Saturday prior to the service. Memorial Donations in Jeff’s name may be made to Harbor Country Mission in Bridgman. Those wishing to sign Jeff’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Jeff was born December 23, 1951 in St. Joseph to Howard & Ilah (Healy) Ruhno. He graduated from Lakeshore High School, Class of 1970. He was employed for many years at his Father’s service station-Ruhno’s Service Station in St. Joseph, Hilltop Foods Bakery in St. Joseph, by Viking Foods as a display manager, at Pier 33 Marina, and most recently in the deli at Roger’s Foodland in St. Joseph. Jeff was the unofficial neighborhood watch person on Second St. His garage was always open to any friends or neighbors who wanted to drop by for a visit. He enjoyed cooking and grilling, rooting for the Chicago Bears, photography, growing roses at home, and watching the birds, squirrels and other wildlife and nature around the property and in his earlier years-hunting & fishing. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Jeff is survived by his mother Ilah Ruhno of St. Joseph; two sisters-Jean Lewetag of Palmetto, FL and Martha Ruhno of St. Joseph; his nephew-Joel A. Lewetag; his niece Andrea M. Lewetag both of Palmetto; his great-nephew Peyton A. Lewetag; several cousins; his good friend Mike (Sara) Sassano of St. Joseph; and his Second St. family. He was preceded in death by his father Howard Ruhno on April 22, 2011.
