Beatrice L. Adkins

Beatrice L. Adkins, 85, of Michigan City, IN, passed away at the Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville, MI on Saturday-January 30, 2021. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sommerfeld Chapel – 15 N. Barton St., New Buffalo, MI. Beatrice was born in Bridgeport, IL on May 6, 1935 to the late Edgar and Mabel (Fox) Hedge. Beatrice is survived by her children – Monica (Jerry) Knowles, Belinda (Anthony) Motycka, Tina (Carl) Scurek, Sheila Garrett, Anita Coombs, Patricia Howard, Robbin Smith, David Cox and Donald Cox; grandchildren – Alex, Amanda, Dillon (Phoebe), Alivia, Morgan, Jared, Hope, Alena and many more; also many great and great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by two sons – Jesse and Charles Cox, and several brothers and sisters. Beatrice was a member of the Full Gospel Church of Deliverance in Michigan City, IN. She enjoyed reading her beloved “The Good Book-Bible” and playing Wheel of Fortune on her Wii. Beatrice really loved spending time and was very involved with her grandchildren. She will be missed by her family and friends. A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Wednesday – February 3, 1:00pm (EST) with Pastor Dennis Pickens officiating at Sommerfeld Chapel in New Buffalo, MI. Private burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Three Oaks, MI. Visitation with the family precedes the service from 11:00AM-1:00PM at the funeral home.
