Janice Hild

Janice Angelo Hild, 76, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on January 6, 2021 at Spectrum Health Lakeland, St. Joseph, Michigan. A beloved, wonderful and young-at-heart mother, as well as niece, sister, aunt, friend and employer, she will always be remembered for her faith in God, her love, beauty and strength (both emotionally and spiritually). In addition, Jan will be remembered for her kindness, care and great generosity to many (especially her family), along with her sense of humor and her love of shopping. Her life on this earth made it a better place for all of us who knew her. Jan was a strong working woman with a great entrepreneurial spirit. She was proprietor along with her father and son of Angelo’s Party Store of Benton Harbor for approximately 25 years. She was grateful for all her customers of whom she made many friendships. Jan was born, raised and lived most of her life along the Lake Michigan area of Benton Harbor. She is survived by her children: daughter Deborah Hild (Steve Warren) and son Phillip Hild, Jr.; brother Joseph (Joey) Angelo, Jr.; aunt Mary Wheeler (Willard); niece Holly Goodline (Chad) and family; and nephews Joseph Anthony Michael Angelo (Krissy) and Ryan Angelo (Makenzie) and their families, as well as many cousins. She was preceded in death by her father Joseph Angelo, Sr. (Papa Joe) and mother Frances (Finehout) Angelo. A cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life service is planned for the spring/early summer. An announcement of the date and time of service will be made in the newspaper. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Salvation Army of Benton Harbor youth programs. Arrangements have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph.
