Earl's Obituary

Earl Lynn Brohman, 89, of Berrien Springs, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Spectrum Health Lakeland in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 22, 2021 at Heritage Chapel, 8747 US 31 Berrien Springs with Rev. Janet Van Lear officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Berrien Springs. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M., Friday at the funeral home. Masks & Social Distancing will be required for both the visitation & service. Due to COVID, there will be no gathering after the burial service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Berrien County Youth Fair. Those wishing to sign Earl’s Memory Book online may do so at www.heritage-chapel.com Earl was born September 22, 1931 in Berrien Springs to Lester & Naoma (Sunday) Brohman. He graduated from Berrien Springs High School, Class of 1949 and later in life attended Lake Michigan College. On September 8, 1951 he married the former Linda Mc Nees in Arden, MI. Growing up, Earl helped on the family dairy farm. Later, he purchased his own farm and grew crops such as tomatoes, strawberries and corn to harvest. He could often be found riding his cherished John Deere “B” tractor while farming. Earl tended to the farm as well as working full-time at Clark Equipment in Benton Harbor. He also helped Linda with her on-line business—Punch Needle Marketplace. He and Linda were volunteers for many years at the Berrien County Youth Fair both in the ice booth and in maintaining flower beds. Earl also was an active volunteer with Christmas Care. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed tending to his flowers around the house, but most of all, the time spent with his daughters, grandchildren & great-grandchildren. Earl is survived by his daughters Sandra Fulbright and Sheryl (Jim) Kesterke; four grandchildren Shawn Fulbright, Shannon (Mike) Brodeur, Jessica (Eric) Balsis and Nic (Jessica) Kesterke; six great grandchildren Anthony, Madeleine and Olivia Fulbright, Dawson and Brinley Balsis and Jameson Kesterke; numerous nieces & nephews; and his canine companion Brandy. Earl was preceded in death by his wife Linda on October 14, 2020, his son-in-law Ray Fulbright on January 3, 2021, his parents and two brothers-Keith & Charles Brohman.
