Elizabeth Catherine Ives

Elizabeth C. “Bette” Ives, 92, of Stevensville, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at her home. A private graveside service will be held. Burial will take place at Riverview. Memorial contributions may be made to Caring Circle, 4025 Health Park Ln., St. Joseph, or Berrien County Cancer Service, 3900 Hollywood Rd., St. Joseph. Bette was born on July 7, 1928, to Peter & Katherine (Coughlin) Rybarczyk in St. Joseph. She graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School as Valedictorian of her class. On September 27, 1947, Bette married the love of her life Roy Ives at St. Joseph Catholic Church, where they were life long members. Bette volunteered much of her time as a founding member of the Marion Guild, singing in the choir at church and cooking for funeral luncheons. Bette was an avid sports fan, especially for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Her most treasured time was spent with her family. Bette is survived by her children, Cathleen (Fred) Fenrick of St. Joseph, Stephen (Annelise) Ives of Rockford, IL, Susan (Chuck) Fox of Stevensville, Jeffrey Ives of Austell, GA and Christopher Ives of Benton Harbor; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Bette was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roy Ives and daughter Deborah Ives.
