Karin's Obituary

Karin Elizabeth Polstin 92, of Benton Harbor, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2020 at Pine Ridge Facility in Stevensville. A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 1 PM at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma with Father Arul Lazar officiating. Out of respect for the family and guests in attendance masks and social distancing will be required. Memorial contributions may be made to Caring Circle, 4025 Health Park, St. Joseph or St. Joseph Catholic Church, 220 Church St., St. Joseph. Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Karin was born April 6, 1928 to Charles and Gladys (Matthews) Clark in Benton Harbor. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1946. She married Adolph “Al” Polstin on June 7, 1947 at St. John's Catholic Church in Benton Harbor. The two were happily married for 41 years until his passing in 1988. In 1950, she and her husband were blessed with a son, Edward. Besides being a devoted wife and mother. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and volunteered on many committees. Karin was always up for trying something different whether it was square dancing, bowling, line dancing and especially ushering at the Mendel Center. In the early days she and Al loved camping with her Mom and Dad, and later spending time at their place at Sandy Pines. She was friendly to anyone she met. She loved her Rocky Gap neighborhood and was well known to all who lived in that area. Karin is survived by her daughter-in-law, Mary Ann (Conrad) Dutra, and leaves behind many longtime friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son.
