Marion's Obituary

Marion Milnikel, 95, of St. Joseph, MI peacefully passed away into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Friday, December 11, 2020 at her home. Due to COVID-19 a Private Celebration of Life Eternal will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph, with Rev. Michael Roth officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Lutheran Hour Ministries. Those wishing to share a memory of Marion online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Marion was born August 1, 1925 in St. Joseph, MI to Matthew & Ida (Berk) Stockman. She graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1943. On February 12, 1949 she married Eugene Milnikel at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph. Marion was a lifelong member of Trinity where she sang in the choir. She also enjoyed singing with the St. Joseph Monday Musical Club. Marion was a gracious, warm, generous, loving person, a caregiver to her core. She found much joy working in her garden with an incredible gift for helping plants bloom and grow. Marion was made a child of her Heavenly Father in baptism on August 23, 1925. She never forgot she was a forgiven sinner through the death and resurrection of her Savior, Jesus Christ. Marion allowed her Lord to use her to meet His purposes and she is alive now in the nearer presence of her dear Lord. Marion is survived by her son Thomas (Jenifer) Milnikel; grandchildren Sara (Stacey) Charron-Milnikel and great-grandchildren Emmett and Ivy Charron-Milnikel, and Paul (Haylee) Milnikel and great-grandchild Grantner Milnikel. Marion was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings Allen Stockman, Robert Stockman and Elaine Jenkins.
