Iris's Obituary

Iris Mae Duty, 81 of White Pigeon, passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at her home. A celebration of life service will be held privately on Monday, December 14, 2020 at Clark Chapel in Dowagiac. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Iris was born July 22, 1939, in Yeager West Virginia to John and Florence (Jackson) Seabolt. She graduated from Yeager High School in 1957. Iris worked for Reese Hitch in Goshen for over 20 years before her retirement. She had a love for animals and had great faith in her Lord. Iris loved to go clearance shopping, and always knew how to find the best deal, something that she passed on to her children and grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and spending time in her yard. Most of all she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Iris is survived by her daughters, Kathy (Kent) Kiester and Doris Hale; grandchildren, Baretta (Misty) Duty, Casey Lott, Stacey Franco, Krystal (Eric) Gramelspacher Jenny Bell, Kevin Kiester, Christy Negrete, and Carrie Negrete; 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Florence Seabolt; daughter, Terrie Negrete; and her siblings, Darrel Seabolt, William Sealbolt, Donald Sealbolt, Doris Adkins and Annabelle Smith.
