Jeannette Elsie Catania

Our loving Mother, Jeanette Elsie (Selent) Catania went peacefully to her Heavenly home on November 23, 2020 at her daughters under the loving care of her family. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 12:00 PM, at Lake Michigan Christian Center, 9955 Church St, Bridgman with Pastor Erik Gustafson officiating. Friends may visit with the Family starting at 11:00 AM prior to the service. Masks & Social Distancing will be required. Jeanette was born to Edward and Elsie (Mischke) Selent on September 14, 1936. She married Albert Catania (deceased March 15, 1965). They had 6 children, Douglas Catania(deceased), Deborah Catania, Catherine Catania, Cynthia (Gary) Klutts, Joseph (Pam) Catania and Joy Woods, 13 Grandchildren, 26 Great Grandchildren, and the 100’s of other children she adopted into her heart and her family. She is also survived by a sister, Beverly Selent. She was preceded in death by four Brothers and one Sister. She graduated from St. Joe High School in 1954. Jan worked in sales at Whirlpool, where she was also an appliance model. She then had a daycare in her home for many years. She worked at ICMS and Larry Nye’s in Baroda. And then worked many years for Underwater Construction before she retired in 2018. She loved spending time with her family. She was a huge fan of UofM football and enjoyed watching the games with her son, grandsons and siblings especially on the Big Field in Ann Arbor. She loved her Ladies golf league. She was the best crossword solver, loved to read, and adored by all. In leiu of flowers please donate to your favorite charity.
