Althea's Obituary
Althea Etta Holmes, 98, of Berrien Springs, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2020. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at 2 PM at Clark Chapel & Cremation Services, 405 Center St., Dowagiac, MI, with Pastor Jeff Oliver officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant View Church of Christ of Cassopolis, 60550 Crooked Creek Rd, Cassopolis, MI 49031. Cremation will be following the service and a private burial will be held at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Dowagiac. Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.clarkch.com.
Althea was born on January 3, 1922 in Grand Rapids, MI to Joseph and Ella (Paxon) Holmes. She worked for Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac. After 16 years of faithful service in the cafeteria she retired. Althea was a proud member of the Pleasant View Church of Christ in Cassopolis. She enjoyed reading magazines, puzzles and watching television programs. Althea was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph & Ella; sisters, Lena Bell Wilcox and Ellen Holmes; and brother, Roger Holmes.
