Olga's Obituary

Olga Sauder, 95, of St. Joseph, passed away on Tuesday-October 13, 2020 at the Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville. Arrangements have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Funeral Home – 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI. Olga was born on Dec. 12, 1924 in Poland to the late Karl and Wilhelmina (Zipple) Jeske. She married Eduard Sauder on Nov. 12, 1949 in Germany. Together they came to the U.S. in 1952. Eduard preceded Olga in death on Oct. 16, 2000. Olga worked as an assembler at Gast Mfg., retiring in 1988. Olga is survived by daughter – Hilda (Greg) Platts of St. Joseph and son – Bob (Patti) Sauder of St. Joseph; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; and a brother and three sisters all living in Germany. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son-Karl and two brothers and two sisters. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday – Oct. 16, 2020, 11:00am, at St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Benton Harbor, of which she was a member since 1952, with Pastor Jeffery Bolwerk officiating. Visitation precedes the service from 10:00-11:00am at the church. Burial will follow at Hickory Bluff Cemetery in Stevensville. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthews Lutheran Church.
