Jacqueline Louise Shafer, 78, of Decatur, Michigan, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2020.
A visitation will be held Thursday, October 15th from 5-7p at Newell Chapel, 83313 M-51 Highway, Decatur, MI. Friends wishing to leave a condolence may do it at www.newellchapel.com.
Jackie was born to Walter & Edna Curran in Mishawaka, IN on August 11, 1942. She graduated Washington Clay High School in 1960. In 1961, she married Don Shafer in South Bend, IN. Together they raised five children and welcomed 9 grandchildren & 5 great-grandchildren. Jackie enjoyed being creative, crafting, designing houses, studying the Bible & hosting family brunches that were enjoyed by many. She will be missed by all who knew her. Her faith in God was the most important thing to her.
Jackie is survived by her husband, Don Shafer, daughter Jennifer (Mike) Northrup, daughter Susan Shafer, son Steve (Kim) Shafer, daughter Amy (Craig) Rose all of Decatur; nine grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, brother Floyd (Lynette) Curran of Racine, WI and sister Debra Curran of South Haven. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Sally High, son Christopher D. Shafer, daughter Pamela Polomcak, and great-granddaughter Aspen Grace Polomcak.
