Sharon's Obituary

Sharon J. Tescallo, 79, of Stevensville, passed away, Friday, September 4, 2020 at Spectrum Health Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 11, 2020 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Court & Market St., St. Joseph, with Rev. Michael Roth officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Friends may visit with the family Thursday from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorial donations in Sharon’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Those wishing to sign Sharon’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com Sharon was born February 20, 1941 in St. Joseph to Harvey & Elsie (Bandurski) Stroshein. She grew up as a “Sand Rabbit” on Silver Beach along the shores of Lake Michigan and graduated from St. Joseph High School, Class of 1959. On November 21, 1959, she married John Tescallo at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph. Sharon had a career of fifty years at Fifth-Third Bank in St. Joseph/Stevensville, retiring in 2008. Along with her banking career, she and John owned and operated the Jungle Inn in St. Joseph, the Clark Gas Station on Napier in Benton Harbor, along with numerous rental properties. Sharon was a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph. Sharon loved watching Dancing with the Stars, clipping coupons for shopping, and doing jig-saw puzzles. She loved animals and always surrounded herself with rescue dogs & cats. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Sharon is survived by her daughter Kimberly Tescallo of St. Joseph. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John on September 25, 1985, and by two sisters-infant Sandra Stroshein in 1939 and Barbara Stroshein in 2010.
