Arleen's Obituary

Arleen S. Lantz, 80, of Berrien Springs, went to meet her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Woodland Terrace in Bridgman. A Celebration of Life Eternal will be held 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at First Church of God, 2627 Niles Ave., St. Joseph, with Rev. Bill Shepard officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service beginning at Noon Thursday at the Church. Memorial donations in Arleen’s name may be made to First Church of God Endowment Fund or Warner Memorial Camp in Grand Junction, MI. Those wishing to sign Arleen’s Memory Book online or view her Celebration of Life Service may do so at www.heritage-chapel.com. The service recording will be available beginning Friday. Social distancing and masks will be required. Arleen was born December 21, 1939 in Elkhart, IN to Ralph & Lucille (Yeager) McCloughan. She graduated from Elkhart High School, Class of 1958. On January 24, 1960, she married Dean Lantz in Elkhart. Arleen devoted her life to caring for her family as a homemaker. In addition, she was a member of First Church of God where she served as a MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) leader for fifteen years and was a life member of the Women of the Church of God. She also volunteered at Mercy and Lakeland Hospitals for 40 years, serving as the Lakeland Auxiliary President in 1990. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Arleen is survived by her husband Dean; four children-Deborah (James) Clark of Berrien Springs, Rebecca (Joe) Haight of Nashville, TN, Daniel (Patricia) Lantz of Columbus, OH, David (Heather) Lantz of Leo, IN; twelve grandchildren-Aaron (Wendi) Lantz, Ansley (Merrick) Stewart, Kelsey & Kara Reinhardt, Ryan (Savanna) Clark & Brandon (Becky) Clark, Destin, Isaac & Andrew Haight, Payton (Logan) Hauer, Garrett, Owen, Taz & Addalyn Lantz; three great grandchildren -Olivia Lantz, Chloe Clark & Haygen Stewart; two sisters-Carolyn Combs of Bargersville, IN, Betty (James) Manning of Bryan, OH; and numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Edna Joanne McCloughan and a brother-in-law Richard Combs.
