Mary L. Ruple

Mary L. Ruple, 77, of Dowagiac, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2020, at Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac. Arrangements have been entrusted to Clark Chapel and Cremation Services. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2020, at 11:00AM at Clark Chapel, 405 Center St. Dowagiac with Pastor Stacey Wilder officiating. Friends may visit with the family Saturday from 10:00AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Mary’s name may be made to Calvary Bible Church. Those wishing to leave the family a message of condolence may do so at www.clarkch.com Mary was born May 20, 1943, in Dowagiac to Ernest and Doris (Starrett) Carpenter. She attended and graduated from Dowagiac High School. Mary was a hard worker, she worked for Du-wells in Dowagiac for over 23 years before her retirement. Mary loved to gamble, enjoyed spending time at Four Winds Casino, playing the lottery and Bingo, where she often referred to as “Mary Lee” as a joke. She loved going to concerts with Elvis and other 50’s and 60’s impersonators, her favorite being Doug Church. Most of all she loved her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Mary is survived by her siblings, Kittie (Bruce) Collett, Gloria Ridenour, Lucky Carpenter, Mark Carpenter, Skippy Carpenter and Ginger Kiggins; nieces and nephew who were like her kids, Kristina Henslee, Deena Henslee and Jeff Collett and 14 other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
