Spencer Lawrence Hofbauer

Spencer L. Hofbauer, 28, of Battle Creek, passed away unexpectantly on Tuesday, August 25, 2020, in Battle Creek. Spencer was born on January 11, 1992, in Petoskey, MI. He was a very willful young man with a great sense of humor and the gift of a sarcastic wit. Spencer graduated from Petoskey High School in 2010 and then went on to become an EMT and eventually a Paramedic. He was employed at Lifecare Ambulance in Battle Creek. Like so many others, Spence struggled with Mental Health issues and succumbed to his fears and despair despite the love and support that surrounded him. Spencer leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother Gayle Hofbauer; siblings Joseph Hofbauer II and Skylar Hofbauer; and much loved young woman Linzy Benedict. He is also survived by his grandparents, Victor & Lenora Cuthbert and Larry & Dianne Hofbauer; several aunts, uncles and cousin; and father Joseph Hofbauer. A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, August 31, 2020, at 4PM, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Pastor Chris Momany officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 2PM until time of the service on Monday at the funeral home.
