Karen's Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Karen Sue King announce her passing due to natural causes at the age of 73. Karen will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 54 years, Jim; children, Matthew (Carol), Jason, Becki (Dan), Nathan; grandchildren, Justine (Mat), Jared (Bianca), Cassi (Bryant), Laurie, Nichole, Lizzie; great-grandchildren, Finley, Johnnie, Layla, Mercy; and numerous other family members and friends. Karen was predeceased by her parents, Betty and Richard Adams; and brother, David. Karen was a 1964 graduate of Benton Harbor High School. One of her great joys was in owning her own business in the late 1990s, a gifts and antiques store in Dowagiac, Michigan, The Golden Acorn. She was also a former employee of CAM, The Indy Car Mechanics Association. Karen had many passions including antiquing, gardening, bird watching, and was an exceptional homemaker. She will be fondly remembered as a woman of deep faith, who exemplified the Proverbs 32 wife. Her Christ-like example of quiet strength, dignity and love for her family and friends was a blessing to all who knew her. A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held at North Shore Memory Gardens, 5027 M-63, Coloma, MI, at 1PM, on Thursday, August 27, 2020.
