Revelations 21:4 Asante Bates, affectionately known to family and loved ones as Mr. Wiggles was called home Sunday, August 16, 2020. Asante was born on April 16, 2020, in St. Joseph, Michigan to Tinika Bates and Andrew Atterberry, both of Benton Harbor, Michigan. Asante was preceded in death by his Great Grand Parents, Josephine Sanders, Donell Jones and Roosevelt Bates Sr. Asante leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Tinika Bates; his father, Andrew Atterberry; his brothers, Andrew Atterberry, Jr., Camarco Bates, Karter Atterberry, Zevion Gordon, Prince Atterberry and Quanterius Atterberry; his sisters, Lovely Bates and Andiece Atterberry, all of Benton Harbor, Michigan; grandparents, Shelena Sanders (Jarmel Hayes - Paw Paw), Roosevelt Bates, Brena Cohn and Andrew Atterberry Sr.; great-grandmother, Lucy Johnson, all of Benton Harbor, Michigan; aunts, Khanita Hudson, Tina Atterberry, Skyla Brown, Jasmine Bates and Miesha Fuller; great-aunt, Andrea Sanders; great-uncle and godfather, Charles Humburt; great-great uncles, Demtrius Jones and Damontee Jones, and a host of aunties, uncles, cousins, family, friends and godmothers Daniya Newson and Velvet Haynes. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 P.M., August 26, 2020, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Road, St Joseph, MI. Friends may visit with the family prior to the service from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Out of respect for the family and guests in attendance mask and proper social distancing will be required. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma, MI.
