Raymond Harvey Dings

Raymond H. Dings, Jr., 79, of Holland, MI, formerly of Dowagiac, MI, passed away on Saturday – August 8, 2020, in Holland, MI. Arrangements have been entrusted to Clark Chapel – 405 Center St., Dowagiac, MI. Ray was born on February 19, 1941 in Dowagiac to the late Raymond and Opal (Dudley) Dings, Sr. On July 14, 1961, in Cassopolis, MI, he married Sandra Smith. Sandra survives Raymond; as well as their four sons – Michael (Brenda) Dings of Jascksonville, FL, Charles (Robin) Dings of Middletown, RI, David Dings of Holland, MI and William (Michelle) Dings of Naples, FL; four grandchildren – Tia Dings, Tilar Dings, Ryan Paris and Christopher Craig; a great grandchild – Alexander Paris; a brother – James Dings of Niles, MI; and a sister – Harriet McElheny of Dowagiac, MI. He is preceded in death by a daughter - Angela Dings and a sister - Rachel Simpson. Ray was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed the casino, but most of all he loved his family. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday – August 13, 11:00am, at Clark Chapel. Burial will follow at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens in Niles, MI.
