Eleanor M. Bluschke

Eleanor M. Bluschke, 94, of St. Joseph, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 2, 2020, at Caretel Inns of Lakeland. The family will celebrate Eleanor’s life privately due to COVID-19 and respect of social distancing. Burial will take place in Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph. Eleanor was born on February 27, 1926, to John and Elizabeth (Zoschke) Grieser in Benton Harbor, MI. She attended Bainbridge Elementary School and graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1944. Eleanor worked for Sears and Roebuck, and Brammell Supply Company. On September 23, 1950, she married Stanley Bluschke in Benton Harbor. Eleanor was a charter member at Clay Street Baptist and Napier Parkview Baptist Church. She faithfully attended church and was very active: singing in the choir and with the sunshine choristers group, worked in the baby and toddler nurseries for over thirty years, assisted with vacation Bible school and was the church treasurer with her sister, Margaret for many years. Eleanor loved her Lord and Savior, cherished her family and was a loving supportive mother. Eleanor is survived by her son, James (Holly) Bluschke of St. Joseph; daughter, Gloria Veres of Bridgman; brother, Dean (Betty) Grieser; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She will now be reunited in Heaven with those who preceded her in death; parents, John and Elizabeth Grieser; husband of 67 years, Stanley Bluschke; son, Gary Bluschke and siblings, Lucille, Leona, Leland and Margaret.
