Arlene Dorothy Dinges

Arlene Dorothy Dinges, 78, of Stevensville, went to be with the Lord, Monday, July 27, 2020 at her home in Stevensville. A memorial gathering will be held at 10am until time of memorial service at 11am, Friday, July 31, 2020 at Christ Lutheran Church, 4333 Cleveland Ave., Stevensville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Christ Lutheran Church. Arlene was born October 9, 1941 in St. Joseph to Edwin and Mabel (Kuehl) Damaske. In her early years, she worked in her family’s grocery store and later at People’s State Bank. She met and married the love of her life, her husband, Charles “Chuck” Dinges on May 15, 1965, at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph. Arlene left her job at the bank and devoted her life to being a wife and mother, two roles in which she thrived. She will be remembered for her commitment to her family, never missing her grandchildren’s events and always putting the needs of others before herself. Later in life, Arlene took a job in food service for Lakeshore Public Schools, where she worked for over 30 years and met many dear friends and students. She also selflessly volunteered her time at Lakeland Center for Outpatient Services as well as at Christ Lutheran Church. Her grandchildren will always remember helping her during the time she spent working at the Hollywood Farms corn stand. To know Arlene was to love her; she will be dearly missed, but her family is comforted knowing her strong faith has taken her to the arms of God. Arlene is survived by her husband of 55 years, Charles “Chuck” Dinges; her children, Julie (Jeff) Hannan, and Gregory Dinges; her grandchildren, Matthew Hannan, Alyssa Hannan, and Nicholas Dinges; her brothers, Ray (Mary) Damaske, and James (Jeanine) Damaske; and her special granddog, Brady. She is preceded in death by her siblings, Donald Damaske, and Karen Damaske; and her parents.
