Helen J. “Jeanne” Koebel, 87, of Berrien Springs, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2020, at Cartel Inns of Lakeland. A celebration of life graveside service will be held on Monday, July 13, 2020, at 10:30AM at Spring Run Cemetery in Royalton Township. Memorial contributions may be made to Stevensville United Methodist Church or Berrien County Youth Fair. Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Jeanne was born on December 22, 1932, to Henry & Helen (Miska) Meachum in Benton Harbor. She graduated from Hartford High School. On November 9, 1957, Jeanne married the love of her life Benjamin Koebel at the First Methodist Church in Hartford. Jeanne worked as a Real Estate Agent for over 20 years before her retirement in 2010. She enjoyed working on the family farm with her husband and volunteering for Hinchman United Methodist Church and Stevensville United Methodist Church. Jeanne is survived by her children, Pamela (Michael) Lawrick of Berrien Springs and Mark (Jami) Koebel of Berrien Springs; grandchildren, Katelyn M. Koebel and Matthew M. Koebel; sister-in-law Patsy Meachum; and many nieces and nephews. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ben Koebel; and siblings, Marjorie (Charles) Simmons and Dr. H. J. Meachum.
