Carol Ann Wiles, 84, of Decatur, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2020. Arrangements have been entrusted to Newell Chapel & Cremation Services. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 6, 2020 at 11 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Russell Homic officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service. A private burial will be held at a later date at Hamilton Cemetery. Carol was born to Frank and Dorothy (Frese) Schonbok on November 24, 1935, in Lansing, IL. She graduated from Decatur High School in 1954. On May 7, 1955, she married Lowell Wiles at Holy Family Catholic Church, where she was a proud member. Living and raising her family on a farm, Carol enjoyed canning, freezing and cooking all the vegetables that her family grew. What Carol loved most in life was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Carol was a wonderful lady who always put others needs before her own. Her kindness and caring heart will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
Carol is survived by her children, Debra (Bud) Sokoloskis of Dowagiac, Timothy Wiles, Julie (Jeff) Hemenway, David (Lynn) Wiles, Theresa (Mike) Osbeck, all of Decatur, Sharon Wolverton of Lawton, and Suzie Wiles of Decatur; many grandchildren & great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean van’t Zelfde and Martha Wolf.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Frank & Dorothy; loving husband of 40 years, Lowell; son, Jason Wiles; siblings, Frank Schonbok, Jr., and Lois Vojcak; and daughter-in-law, Deborah Wiles.
