Joyce Elaine Davis

Joyce Elaine Davis, 84, of Benton Harbor, MI passed away on Tuesday-June 23, 2020 at Lakeland Spectrum Health Center in St. Joseph. Arrangements have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Funeral Home – 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI. Joyce was born in Galien, MI on April 28, 1936 to the late Orville and Elizabeth (Kellogg) Roundy. She was a 1954 graduate of Galien High School as well as Miss Galien 1954. On June 19, 1955 in Galien, MI, she married Robert Lee Davis. Joyce was a secretary-dispatcher for the City of St. Joseph and secretary for the Volunteer Director at Mercy Hospital. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially flowers, gardening and mowing her yard; she was a wonderful cook and baker (her family loved her chocolate pies); bingo, sewing, crocheting and watching golf – in particular Tiger Woods were some of her favorite things to do. Her family loved her and will greatly miss her. Joyce is survived by her husband of 65 years – Robert “Bob”; her children – Diane (Glenn) Shaltis of Howell, MI, Bryan (Judy) Davis and Ronda (Don) Goulooze of St. Joseph and stepson – Rick Davis; grandchildren – David (Patsy) Shaltis, Karla Tacy, Amy Shaltis, Blake (Diana) Davis, Devin Goulooze, Shawn (Kaitlin) Goulooze and Aaron (Katherine) Davis; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters – Janet (Edward) Carpenter of Galien and Joan Shearer of Owensboro, KY. She is preceded in death by a sister – Judith Reitz. A Celebration of Life service will take place on Tuesday-June 30, 11:00am, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, with Chaplain Tim Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Visitation with the family is on Monday-June 29, from 6:00-8:00pm, at the funeral home.
