Jerry's Obituary

Jerry L. Lundy, 75, of Dowagiac, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2020, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, June 29, 2020, at 12:00PM at Clark Chapel, 405 Center St. Dowagiac with Pastor Dave Helmuth officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, June 28, 2020, from 3:00PM until 5:00PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dowagiac Animal Service League or Dowagiac High School Wrestling Program. Those wishing to leave a message of condolence for the family may do so at www.clarkch.com. Jerry was born March 21, 1945, in Dowagiac to Roger and June (Nelson) Lundy. He graduated from Dowagiac High School in 1963 where he played football and was known as “The Ram” and received the Leading Offensive Player in 1962. He also was a great wrestler and earned the award of Best Wrestler in 1963. He continued to support local wrestling programs his entire life. On March 15, 1980, he married the love of his life Sally Schoff in Dowagiac. Jerry worked as a supervisor for over 27 years at Sunstrand in Dowagiac. He and his wife, Sally worked hard to fulfill their lifelong dream of owning and operating their own fishing and hunting camp in Canada that they owned for 14 years. It was there that they developed long-lasting friendships with people throughout the world. Jerry was an avid hunter and fisherman and was passionate about wildlife and loved to travel. His greatest joy was being in Canada or Alaska because of his love of wilderness and nature. Jerry loved his wife and family more than anything, and will be greatly missed. Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Sally Lundy; daughters, Jodie (Craig) Allen, Tracie (John) Closson and Heather (Eric Bowman) Lundy; grandchildren, Deven, Camden and Ashten Allen, Kayley and Cody Closson, Carly Ann Prak and Isabella Osborne; and brother, Mickie Lundy. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Roger Lundy and Donnie Lundy.
