Pamela Jean Kirshenbaum

On Monday, May 4, 2020, Pamela Jean Kirshenbaum passed away on her 70th birthday in Delray Beach, Florida. Pam was born on May 4, 1950 in St. Joseph, Michigan to Marshall and Anne (Ruppel) Ott. She is survived by her husband, Ben Kirshenbaum; son, Jeff (Leza) Kirshenbaum; daughter, Kasey Kirshenbaum; grandchildren, Josh, Halley and Bunny Kirshenbaum; three sisters, Marsha (Ken) Magga, Kathy (Nick) White, and Becky (Steve) Curley; and brother, David (Nancy) Ott. Pam lived many lives, and her last years were some of her best. She was truly living her best life. The past few years she had made some of the best friends she has ever had. She was creating beautiful art, a passion she has always had, and what a talent she had for it, learning and teaching others in her home studio, in workshops she traveled to across the world, and online. Pam loved being out on the golf course, playing almost every day. Over the years, she was a member of Berrien Hills Country Club, Point O’ Woods Country Club, The Polo Club, Delaire Country Club, and Harbor Shores. When she stepped up to the tee box, she was often the longest drive, even outdriving her husband. She played in every single tournament she could, placing in most. Pam also had a passion for volunteering and helping those that were less fortunate than her. She was the field trip mom, the swim team mom, the volleyball team mom. Pam volunteered for Berrien County Cancer Service, who helped her so much through a very difficult time and was also a member of the Women’s Service League. She was captain of her tennis team. In her most recent years, in the Delaire Women’s Golf Association, she was Treasurer, tournament chair, Co-captain, and Captain of the Delaire Challenge Cup Team. As co-chair for the play for pink tournament Pam was the first in her position to surpass raising $100,000 for the breast cancer research foundation. Pam was one of the greatest women many of us will ever have the pleasure of knowing. And what a pleasure and blessing it has been to have her in our lives. “On the day we are born, we are entrusted with a mission. The righteous person lives her life achieving her fullest potential and completes her mission on earth in the most perfect way possible. A private family burial was held at Temple B’Nai Shalom Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Berrien County Cancer Service.
