Martha Holloway

Martha Holloway, 94, of Benton Harbor, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2020, at Hanson Hospice Center. A celebration of life graveside service will be held on Friday, May 8, 2020, at 11AM, at North Shore Memory Gardens, 5027 M-63, Coloma, with Bishop LeRoy Lane officiating. Martha was born on May 29, 1925, to Isaac & Hester (Jones) Young in Dell, AR. On November 1, 1943, Martha married the love of her life Clarence Holloway Sr., in Dell. Together they had twelve children, who Martha stayed home and raised. Martha was baptized by Deacon Stone in 1946 in Blytheville, AR, at Church of Christ Devine Apostolic, according to the faith Acts:238. Once her children were grown, she worked for Zenith Co., Michigan Fruit Canners and the Ramada Inn. She was also a member of the Pentecostal Power Organization. Martha enjoyed sewing, gardening and traveling to church conventions. Most of all, Martha loved to spend her time with her family. Martha is survived by her children, Johnny (Sharon) Holloway, Willa Coleman, Charles Holloway, Dorothy Jones, Tommie (Terry) Holloway, Annette Holloway, Linda Holloway, Theresa Holloway and Nina Holloway- all of Benton Harbor; 33 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; and two sisters, Evelyn Hill and Mandy Nash. Martha was preceded is death by her husband, Clarence Holloway Sr; parents, Isaac & Hester Young; children, Magelene Smith, Clarence Holloway Jr. and George Holloway; and siblings, Issac Young Sr., Mary Young, Hester Young, Jerry Young, Edward Young, Lillie Young and John Willie Young.
