Donald Peter Kemp, 84 of Stevensville, MI passed away, Monday, May 4, 2020 at home with family by his side. Arrangements have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church at a later date with internment at Hickory Bluff Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Animal Aid of Southwestern Michigan or the charity of your choice. Donald was born to Charles Donald and Blanche Gertrude (Gruber) Kemp on April 17, 1936 in Toledo, OH and was raised in Rossford, OH. He graduated from Rossford High School in 1954. He attended Purdue University, University of Toledo (BS Mechanical Engineering), Notre Dame University (MBA). He married Janet Rager in 1958. In 1971, the family moved to Stevensville where he was employed by Gast Manufacturing Corp. as an engineer. He volunteered with Boy Scouts of America, Big Brothers, St. Joseph Catholic Church, and Lakeshore Band Boosters. He was a member of the Rossford (OH) Board of Education and was a volunteer firefighter with Rossford and Perrysburg Twp. Fire Departments. He was a licensed Professional Engineer. Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Janet; and by his parents. He is survived by his children, Victoria (Gary) Harms of Albuquerque, N.M., Lynn (Steve) Hall of Corydon, Ind., Brian Kemp of Indianapolis, and Sandra Kemp of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Jessica Gardea, Heather Hall, Christopher Harms and Mark Harms; brother, David (Elizabeth) Kemp of Glouchester, Va.; and sister, Barbara Kemp of Ann Arbor, Mich.
