Mattie Irene Whitright

Mattie Irene Whitright, 79, of Stevensville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at Hanson Hospice in St. Joseph. Cremation services have taken place. A graveside service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association, www.diabetes.org. Those wishing to leave a condolence for Mattie’s family may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Mattie was born November 19, 1940 in Truman, AR to Conrid and LaDell (Cassiday) Tucker. She married Howard William Whitright at 23 and lived the rest of her life in Southwestern Michigan. Mattie was a licensed nurse practitioner for over 30 years; her work was her life and she did it well. But more importantly, Mattie loved her family and friends and they will miss her dearly. Mattie is survived by her children, Howard (Gene) Whitright; and Irieta (Bill Martin) Badgwell; four grandchildren, and her sister Elizabeth Price of Harrisburg, AR. She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard William Whitright, 10 siblings, and her parents. Godspeed Mattie, may the wind always be at your back.
