Edward's Obituary

Edward A. Siemans, 88, of Stevensville MI, passed away at Spectrum- Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph, on Friday April 24, 2020, surrounded by his family. A private family service will be held on Tuesday, April 28 with burial to follow at Graceland cemetery. A public Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date because of the COVID-19 stay at home order. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran church in St. Joseph. Friends wishing to leave a condolence may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Ed was born on December 9, 1931, in Chicago, IL; to Ernest & Rose (Price) Siemans. He married the love of his life Joan Reynolds on September 26, 1953 in Markham IL. He served in the National Guard for ten years. In 1975 Ed & Joan came to Bridgman to look at a car dealership to buy. At first, they felt the dealership was too small and they were not interested. After talking to other dealers, they decided to take a chance. They agreed to buy the business, moved their family to Bridgman, and Siemans Ford was born. In addition to a enjoying his roll at the dealership, Ed loved being involved throughout the community. Ed is survived by his wife Joan, three sons Jack (Teresa) Siemans of St. Joseph, Craig Siemans of Stevensville, Eric (Cathy) Siemans of Benton Harbor. He is also survived by five grandchildren including Matthew Siemans, Michael (Gianna) Siemans, MacKenzie Siemans, Marty Siemans, and Kailee Siemans. Ed was preceded in death by a brother Howard Siemans and a sister Bernice Pagen.
